![]() ![]() It must be said- always keep a hand on the pipe chanter as they can fall and break if wood, and ruin the reed everytime. The pipe chanter dangling there in front off the bag allows you to grip the chanter lightly, which is important for playing. The pipes dangle the chanter in front of you with the chanter facing in a very different direction than the practice chanter- you can't see your fingers which is a big adjustment for beginners transitioning onto the pipes. Practice chanters and pipes are really different instruments that happen to have the same fingering.
